The Bahá’ís of Spokane

There is one God called by many names and perfections

We are all members of one human family

The core teachings of the great religions of the world represent expressions of God's eternal love for the peoples of all ethnicities & cultures of the planet, a single process of spiritual education of all peoples of the globe.

Uniting all the peoples of the earth starts in our local neighborhoods, learning together to build communities characterized by loving-kindness, consultative problem-solving, prayer, and service. We welcome you as partners in building communities of unity in diversity. There are many ways to connect with and collaborate with Bahá’ís of Spokane, such as:

  • introductory presentations to learn more about the Bahá’í Faith

  • gatherings of prayer that include music, the arts, and prayer from diverse religious traditions

  • study groups that weave together understanding the life of our soul with further developing capacities to serve others

  • classes for children to learn about virtues such as kindness, compassion, truthfulness, diligence, generosity, and justice

Some Bahá’í Principles:

✶ We are each created as spiritual beings made to know God, love God, and develop virtues

✶ Humanity's diversity is as a garden of flowers of many colors, shapes, and fragrances

✶ The equality of women and men ✶ Racial equality, justice, and unity

✶ Work performed in the spirit of service to humanity is worship of God

✷ The various great world religions are rays of God's one Light

✷ The harmony of science & religion, reason & revelation

✷ Individual responsibility to investigate truth

✷ This is the God's promised Day for human society to learn to live in universal peace, justice, and unity

"Ye are the fruits of one tree, the leaves of one branch." --Baha'u'llah

"To be a Baha'i simply means to love all the world; to love humanity and try to serve it; to work for universal peace and universal brotherhood." ~ Abdu'l-Baha
